This is a tiny kitten I recently fostered. I hope she is happy in her new home!

road trippin'

Things I saw: a UHaul trailer on it's side. An SUV on it's side. (separate accidents!) A bizarre billboard with a rifle on it that said 'comfort yourself'. A firetruck on a dirt hill, in the middle of a field on display. A bizillion traffic cones. A car going backwards. A lot of rain.
Music I listened to: P!nk, Lady Sov, Cake, NIN, They Might Be Giants, Chingon, Blondie, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Gorillaz and U2.
Things I thought about: Space Monkeys (never far from my mind), twitter, a couple of art projects, the nature of rain and water, Tommy, #pawpawty, The Dalai Lama, hovercrafts, Segway, robots, the Mamas and Papas, iPhone usefulness, Godzilla, libraries and books.

an idea for this month's Wired magazine 'Found in the Future' column. A gum that helps the chewer create a timespace bubble. If only time travel were that easy.

Apparently sidewalk chalk is the new IM. I've been seeing these all over the school where I'm at grad classes.

Peek-a-Boo under the tree! It's been a tough month. End of the semester, a lot of work, which was enough. then I had a robbery. It's been an horrible experience.
Today I bought a couple of bandannas for an art project. It came with a list of 50 uses some of which are: emergency diaper, pet fashions, soft wallet, picture frame, trail marker and fancy food wrapper.

This is a clip of a series of photos of London at night. Go check them all out here. We are entering the rolling snowball phase of the semester. I can't believe how much stuff I have to do between now and the 1st week of December. It may gave been a bad time to start reading the addictive World War Z by Max Brooks. Speaking of books, I joined GoodReads, since I heard it was a cool way to find out about new books to read.

This is my cure for the election day blues. I voted early! This cartoon comes from the fine folks at ultra kawaii.

I find it to be one of life's supreme ironies that you need a pair of scissors to open a package of scissors.
Also I'm still in iPhone worship mode. I've never had a smart phone before and it's brilliant! It reminds me of stuff, it keeps track of stuff I need to know, it cooks my meals! Loving my new iPhone.
Enjoyed Death Race. I know, I know, total camp and cheese, but man oh man do I love that Jason Statham. Plus a good ridiculously violent movie runs my adrenaline down low and then I can feel stress free for a while. It's like it curbs that deep monkey instinct to fight to the death and survive that humans must have had after coming down from the trees.
Also I loved Mamma Mia, Laurell Hamilton's Blood Noir and oddly, learning how to weave in one of my fall classes. I also found a great newish podcast called You Look Nice Today. It's funny, but hard to explain. Man am I busy, I feel like I have to concentrate my fun into intense little packets of time.

This pic was made at wordle. I finally joined Obama's campaign. After seeing the comment made by a MCain staffer about a terrorist attack helping his cause. I suddenly felt very political after that.

Peek A Boo has been here a few weeks. Thought she should get some web space.
Really loved Indiana Jones. It was tons of fun.
Started school this week. It was way cooler than I thought it would be. I'm liking the idea of teaching more and more.

I love the Publix generic branding. They do such fun stuff with their packaging.
Iron Man and Speed Racer were awesome.
Now I'm sick and it sucks.
So I've been catching up on reading and Zelda Hourglass. One of the books I'm reading is the Dexter series of books that the TV series is based on. It's a very different storyline, since the author and TV writers developed the story at the same time. It's really good though.
I've also been catching up on Lost, it's okay. The first season and the 4th season are interesting, but it's just soooo dramatic.

This pic comes from an article about super lasers in development. Frickin' SUPER Lasers! So that explains that.
It's Sunday afternoon and I'm just getting over my weekend impending doom anticipation. not that I expect anything to go badly this week. But it's that Sunday before work feeling that is reminiscent of waiting on the chair for punishment as a kid. Usually this meant waiting for dad to come home.

I finally started watching Lost. I haven't made up my mind about it. I saw the Futurama movie, which I loved! Yada yada. I'm glad to hear the strike is over. Though it has gotten me hooked on stuff I never considered before, like NCIS. Meantime, I have some job stuff pending, which will be for a while longer, I guess. So there's more dreaded anticipation.

Cloverfield, eh. Sorta interesting, kinda made me dizzy. On the other hand I'm totally cruising through Veronica Mars. I'm sorry I missed it when it was on TV. One good thing about the writers strike is I'm catching up on my DVDs. Of course I'd probably give a small toe for a few new episodes of Pushing Daisies. Meantime I got Satellite TV, so far I like it. More channels, less money, better DVR. I get endless episodes of Dexter's Lab! Whee! Work is still slow, but I've been spending some time doing promotional stuff and taking a PHP class.

Cats are fun. I like how they are dedicated to whatever they do like 100 percent. Juno was fun. I even bought the music from the movie. Here's Kisa as an LOL cat. As a t-shirt it has multiple choice of Today I feel: sleepy, hungry, curious, tricksy.

Sweeney Todd was amazing. I never knew a musical could be so bloody. And I started a t-Shirt Gallery at Zazzle.com. And now it's a new year. And I have the hiccups. Very random. This art is from one on my shirts

It's been another odd holiday. Not much too it so far. Saw Enchanted, laughed a lot. Nice of Disney to send themselves up so cutely. Waiting to see Sweeney Todd. Saw NT: Book of Secrets, but as a family thing. Fun. Helped my dad set up a blog where he plans to air his thoughts on the world. I saw some of it and fully expect the CIA to take an interest. I'm visiting the folks in Florida. They have a cat who has been previously hostile to me, though she seems to like me now. But I still have scratches to show for it. Eh. Work has been slow, still. So I'm trying to spend my time not dwelling on that, but trying to send out portfolio samples and resumes and stuff, just to see if anything happens. It occurred to me that I spent the last year or two wishing work would change and so it might be. Really, if I am going to believe that my thoughts change my life, then I should remember I do.
